The Upper Ferntree Gully Cricket Club is delighted to announce Ryan Murray as our first XI skipper for the upcoming 2022-2023 season.  Ryan joined our club last season and fitted in seamlessly into our first XI and put together a number of strong performances throughout the season. This off-season already, he has shown great leadership, getting small groups together before pre-season and doing the extra work leading into the season.

While we are excited about what Ryan can bring to our 1st XI, we also say thank you to outgoing skipper Corey Williams. Corey has made the decision to step down from the captaincy after being our captain the last three seasons, however Corey is looking forward to the season ahead. Ryan can't wait to work with new coach CJ and for pre-season to begin!

MCLEAN TO LEAD 2ND XI:

With such a young core group coming through our 1st and 2nd XI's, you need experience at the helm and it's a joy to announce Andy McLean as our 2nd XI captain for the upcoming season.  Working closely with 1st XI skipper Ryan Murray and coach CJ, Andy will lead the way and assist our young group through the season.  We look forward to seeing Andy take that step up and using his experience throughout the year.

IRVINE-DEJONG TO LEAD THE THUNDERBIRDS!

After taking over the role in the second half of the season in 21-22, Daniel Irvine-Dejong, better known as "Didsy" will take on the role full time for the upcoming season.

We have no doubt that under Didsy's tutorlege that the 3s will improve significantly from last season.

LIZZA NAMED 4TH XI CAPTAIN:

The club is delighted to announce that Dennis Lizza will lead the way for the 2022-2023 season in our 4th XI.

Dennis returned to the club last season and didn't look out of place.  A great character around the club and has time for anyone.  We can't wait for Dennis to take the reigns and lead the way for the fourths this season!
